TUCSON, AZ — Fall is the busiest hiring stretch on the Tucson calendar, and this year the schedule is unusually stacked. A casino is staffing up for a November opening. A hospital is running on-the-spot interviews. The university holds four separate career fairs. Southern Arizona's largest disability job fair returns to Kino.

Nine confirmed events between August 26 and November 4. All of them free. Here they are in order.

Carondelet St. Joseph's Hiring Event — Wednesday, August 26

1:00 – 3:00 p.m. | Auditorium, Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital, 350 N. Wilmot Rd.

On-the-spot interviews for experienced clinical staff: RNs across all units with named needs in Recovery, Neuro Telemetry, Float Pool, Ortho and Charge RN, plus Nuclear Medicine, CT, MRI and Interventional Radiology technologists and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists. Full-time and PRN.

Important: this event is for experienced professionals only. Patient Care Tech, Environmental Services, Dietary and Security roles are not being recruited here. Pre-register by emailing a resume to Cynthia Nestman at cynthia.nestman@tenethealth.com. Walk-ins welcome.

UA Wildcat Student Employment & Research Fair — Wednesday, August 26

Noon – 3:00 p.m. | Bear Down Building, University of Arizona

The first fair of the fall semester, focused on part-time positions and undergraduate research opportunities with Tucson-based and on-campus employers. Career Readiness staff will be on site doing resume reviews. Bring your CatCard. Register through Handshake.

Casino Del Sol Hiring Event — Thursday, August 27

3:00 – 6:00 p.m. | Casino of the Sun, Sunset Room, 7406 S. Camino de Oeste

Meet, greet and get hired. Casino Del Sol is staffing up ahead of the November 15 opening of Vahi Taa'am on West Grant Road, a 163,000-square-foot property expected to create roughly 500 jobs across gaming operations, food and beverage, hospitality, security and administration. Business or business-casual attire. Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background investigation. As an enterprise of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, enrolled Pascua Yaqui tribal preference applies.

Tucson Law Enforcement Hiring Fair — Monday, August 31

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Hampton Inn, 251 S. Wilmot Rd.

A multi-agency law enforcement recruiting event landing on the same day the Tucson Police Department's recruit application window closes. If you are comparing city police against county, state, federal or tribal agencies, this is the efficient way to do it face to face. TPD recruit pay starts at $63,290.44, rising to $65,499.20 in October.

UA All Majors Career Fair — Tuesday, September 15

Noon – 3:00 p.m. | Bear Down Building, University of Arizona

The broadest fair on the UA calendar. Internships, part-time and full-time roles across every major and industry, open to all years. Professional attire highly recommended. Register through Handshake.

UA STEM Career Fair — Tuesday and Wednesday, October 6–7

Oct 6: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Oct 7: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Student Union Memorial Center Ballroom

One of the largest fairs the university runs. Day one emphasizes computer science, engineering, defense, advanced manufacturing, automation, semiconductors, optics, infrastructure and applied technology. Day two emphasizes the sciences. One registration covers both days. Non-STEM majors should note that these employers also hire for business, finance, HR and program management roles.

UA Internship & Research Fair — Thursday, October 22

Noon – 3:00 p.m. | Bear Down Building, University of Arizona

Organizations recruiting students for internships and undergraduate research across all majors. Worth knowing: employers typically recruit six to eight months ahead of a start date, so October is when summer internships actually get filled.

DREAM Job Fair — Tuesday, October 27

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Kino Event Center, 2805 E. Ajo Way

Southern Arizona's largest job fair for people with disabilities, held during Disability & Rehabilitation Employment Awareness Month. Free, open to people of all ages with any disability, and family, caregivers or guardians are welcome. Organized by a coalition including Goodwill of Southern Arizona, the Beacon Group, SAAVI, UCP of Southern Arizona, DES and Pima County One-Stop, which means service providers are in the room alongside employers. UA Health Professions Fair — Wednesday, November 4

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Health Sciences Innovation Building, 1670 E. Drachman St.

For students interested in healthcare careers or in working for healthcare organizations. Presented with Women in Medicine and Science and the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Sciences, Nutritional Sciences and Wellness, and Veterinary Medicine.

🔎 How to Pick the Right Ones

Nine events is too many for anyone to attend. Sort yourself quickly:

  • Experienced clinical staff: August 26 at Carondelet. Nothing else on this list will get you an interview that fast.
  • Hospitality, gaming, food and beverage, security: August 27 at Casino of the Sun. A property opening in November hires in September, not November.
  • Public safety: August 31, and move quickly — TPD's window closes that day.
  • UA students, any major: September 15. If you are technical, add October 6–7. If you want a summer internship, add October 22.
  • Job seekers with disabilities: October 27. It is the best-aimed room in Tucson all year.
