Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Shawn Williams, the founder of TucsonHIRED — and Tucson is home.

I've called this city home since I was six — that's more than 35 years now. I graduated from Catalina High School in 2001 and went on to Pima Community College. In the years since, I've worked across a wide range of jobs and industries — including years spent building and running job boards, for local communities and national brands alike. That mix gave me a real feel for both sides of hiring: what it's like to look for work, and what it takes to find the right person to fill a role.

Along the way I kept seeing the same problem: the big national sites treat Tucson like a rounding error. Local employers were paying national prices just to get buried under listings from companies three states away, and Tucson job seekers were scrolling past roles nowhere near them.

So I built TucsonHIRED to fix that — a job board made for here, and only here.

I run it myself, hands-on. When you email TucsonHIRED, you're emailing me — not a support queue in another time zone. I read the messages, I answer them, and I fix what's broken. I keep the business lean and reinvest as we grow, with the goal of expanding our office space and hosting local hiring events as the community we serve gets bigger.

I'm not trying to be the biggest job board. I'm trying to be Tucson's job board — the one that knows the difference between the east side and the northwest, that lists the warehouse role off I-10 and the clinic hiring near the U of A, and that a local business owner can trust because there's a real person behind it.
