🏆 Who Is Premier In-Home Care?

Premier In-Home Care is a locally owned Tucson agency, run since 2015 by co-owners Patricia Payne and Mark Schmidt out of an office on West Ina Road. The work itself happens in clients' homes, and the agency's service map covers most of the valley: Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, the Catalina Foothills, Casas Adobes, Tanque Verde, Vail and Rita Ranch, Sahuarita, Green Valley, Catalina and SaddleBrooke, and Avra Valley and Picture Rocks.

It offers hourly, overnight, 24-hour and live-in care, mostly for older adults. That includes dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's care, recovery after a hospital stay or surgery, hospice support, and the everyday help that lets someone keep living at home. Care around the clock takes people on nights and weekends, which is why those shifts lead the flyer. The agency's own site notes that caregivers go through background checks, training and ongoing supervision.

🚗 Read This Before You Go: You'll Need a Car

This flyer is specific, and the requirements will save some people a wasted drive. Premier is asking for caregivers who:

  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Hold a valid driver's license
  • Carry auto insurance
  • Have a vehicle to drive clients to appointments
  • Can pass a background screening

One year of caregiving experience is preferred, but the flyer says it isn't required and that training is provided. That's a little different from Premier's November 10 hiring event on Fort Lowell Road, whose flyer listed $16.50 an hour and no experience needed. Different event, different flyer: go by the one for the day you attend, and ask the recruiter if anything is unclear.

💰 Pay, Shifts and the Wage Floor

The posted starting rate is $17 an hour. That clears the City of Tucson's 2026 minimum of $15.45 and Arizona's statewide $15.15, and it still clears the 2027 rates that take effect January 1: $16 inside city limits and $15.65 everywhere else. Home care makes the jurisdiction line real, because the minimum follows the address where the work happens. A shift in midtown falls under the city rate, while a client in Oro Valley, Marana or the Foothills falls under the state rate. Our 2027 minimum wage breakdown explains both.

The flyer says Premier will work around your schedule, with overnight, evening, weekend and split shifts available. It doesn't mention benefits, mileage reimbursement or pay for drive time between clients. Since this job requires your own car, those are fair questions to ask before you accept an offer.

✅ How to Make the Most of It

  • Bring your driver's license and proof of insurance. Both are on the requirement list, so have them in hand.
  • Bring a few printed resumes. Onsite interviews are possible, so come ready to sit down that day.
  • Know the shifts you can cover. If you can take overnights or weekends, say so first. Those are the hardest hours to staff.
  • Bring any credentials you have. A fingerprint clearance card, CPR or First Aid card, or a caregiver certificate isn't listed as required, but it shows the year of experience Premier prefers.
  • Call with questions. The flyer lists 520-724-7650. It doesn't mention registration, so ask there if you want to confirm before you drive over.

What It Means for Tucson Job Seekers

Home care is one of the most direct ways into healthcare work in Tucson: no degree, no license on day one, and steady demand from an aging population. This event suits:

  • Drivers with a reliable car who'd rather be on the road between clients than behind a counter
  • Night owls and weekend workers, since those are the shifts on offer
  • Parents and students who need a schedule built around something else
  • Anyone eyeing nursing, since caregiving experience carries straight into CNA and patient care work
