A Different Address Than Usual
Most county hiring days this fall have landed at the Kino Service Center on Ajo Way or the Employment Service North office on Fort Lowell. This one is at the East office on Alvernon Way, south of Broadway in midtown. It's an easy bus or bike ride for anyone near Reid Park or the El Con area, and there's no need to cross town to the south side.
Double-check the address before you leave. Two other hiring events run the same morning at the county's other offices, and they wrap up at noon. This one starts at 11, so in theory you can catch one of the morning events and still make it to Alvernon. More on that below.
💼 Who's Coming to the Hiring Event
The county lists four employers but no specific job titles, so treat the descriptions below as a guide to what each one does, not a promise of what's open on the day.
- Nesco. Nesco Resource is a staffing firm that fills manufacturing, light industrial and facilities roles. At its October 28 hiring event it was recruiting assembly operators, production assemblers and custodians.
- Afni. The contact center company has been one of the county's regulars this year. Its earlier Tucson events recruited for insurance and tech support and customer service, sales and insurance jobs.
- A&M Personnel Services, LTD. A Tucson staffing agency that places workers with local employers. Staffing firms often have several openings on hand at once, so tell them plainly what kind of work and which shifts you want.
- Humane Society. The county lists it simply as "Humane Society." Animal welfare work in Tucson typically spans shelter care, adoptions, customer service and veterinary support. Ask which roles are open when you arrive.
Two of the four are staffing agencies. That's good news if you need work fast: one conversation can put you up for several jobs, including temp-to-hire spots.
💰 Pay: What We Know
No pay rates are listed for this event. When the work is inside Tucson city limits, the minimum is $15.45 an hour through December 31, rising to $16.00 on January 1. Outside the city, in places like Marana, Oro Valley or unincorporated Pima County, the state minimum applies: $15.15 now and $15.65 in January. Our 2027 minimum wage breakdown explains the line. Staffing jobs can land on either side of it, so ask where the work actually is.
✅ How to Make the Most of It
- Register first. The county links a hiring event registration form for this one. Fill it out before Monday.
- Bring resumes for four. Print at least four copies, plus extras for the staffing agencies, which may submit you for more than one job.
- Know your availability. Days, nights, weekends, and how soon you can start. Staffing firms move fast on people who can answer clearly.
- Bring ID. A photo ID, and any certifications or licenses you hold.
- Call if unsure. Questions about the event go to the Pima County One-Stop at 520-724-7700.
