Ledcor hosts a job fair on Wednesday, September 16, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport, recruiting for site-based crews across Arizona and Nevada.

⛏️ Why a Contract Miner Is Recruiting in the Old Pueblo

Ledcor has been around since 1947 and runs full-scale contract mining for coal, minerals and metals, along with heavy civil construction and mine reclamation. Its U.S. Heavy Civil and Mining division is based in Reno and has spent decades working Nevada gold country for clients including Barrick and Newmont, with a fleet that runs to more than fifty 100-ton haul trucks.

The Arizona push is newer. It also fits a bigger Southern Arizona story. Between Freeport-McMoRan's Tucson research push and Caterpillar's mining tech hub downtown, mining money keeps landing in this town. Ledcor's fair is the boots-and-hard-hat end of that same pipeline.

MSHA Part 48 certification (surface, metal/non-metal) is commonly required or strongly preferred.
Hands-on time on dozers, graders, excavators, haul trucks and water trucks.
12-hour shifts, with overtime past 40 hours a week.
Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Some site-based roles include a Living Out Allowance for workers staying away from home, plus health benefits.

Practical advice: print several resumes, list every machine model you've operated with rough hours, bring your MSHA card if you have one, and be honest about whether you'll travel.
