Job Description

Our client is a global manufacturing and refining group that produce very high grade Aluminas up to 99.999% pure.

We are seeking a Production Planner to join the team working day shift from 5am to 4pm.  Shift and days will vary with production demand. 


Job Scope

•Responsible for scheduling production and finished product packaging to maintain adequate product inventories to meet sales forecasts.

•Responsible for maintaining and updating day-to-day product inventory databases using Excel, LIMS, and SAP.

•Performs month end closing activities.

Job Purpose


Prepares and schedules production runs for the manufacture of 2000 mtpa of specialty aluminas and identifies appropriate equipment for production runs.


Prepares and schedules packaging of finished products and updates inventory of packaging materials and feed material.


Maintains adequate supply of raw materials.


Maintains and updates records of day-to-day product inventory adjustments from production runs, inventory changes, and packaging runs into Microsoft Excel, Access database (LIMS), and SAP accounting databases. Performs back flush operations in SAP to adjust inventory for new production


Maintain and update Excel database showing daily production for each lot produced (production run number, weight product type), update Excel database with current information from sales orders and raw materials receipts.


Maintains the LIMS database that documents the status of all finished products and intermediate products in inventory and uses this information to direct the disposition of these materials.


Schedules the execution of pilot scale or plant scale tests, as necessary, to support product development.


Participates in customer audits as required.


Liaise with Sales and Marketing and Operations personnel at the Tucson Plant.



Key Performance Indicators:

Manage Planning for on time / in spec shipments

Liaise with Sales and Marketing to resolve Customer Complaints and Waivers

Manage Planning to meet P&O Performance Objectives

Manage Planning and Request Waivers as necessary

Support NAO with Toll Processing and Pilot Scale production


Education BS Chemistry, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering



Skills / Experience

Prior experience in Plant Operations is preferred.

Prior planning experience is preferred.

Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision

Excellent organizational, verbal and written skills

Computer skills, including Word, Excel and SAP (intermediate to advanced level)
